Deputy Minister Dimitrov met with wine producers
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Tzvetan Dimitrov took part in a meeting with wine producers on the occasion of the new draft Law on wine and spirits, which was held in the Sofia Princess Hotel, Europe Hall. Deputy Minister Dimitrov informed that the purpose of the new draft bill is to introduce the changes in European law after the reform in the wine sector, as well as amendments made in the sectors related to alcohol. With the new draft bill new categories of grapevine products are introduced, he said.

Deputy Minister Dimitrov added that some reliefs have been made in new law for producers, as unified documents for keeping control technology have been introduced required by the various supervisory authorities. These changes are intended to enhance the competitiveness of wine producers, establishment of a wine regime, based on clear, simple and effective rules to secure the balance between supply and demand, and also  to create new markets for Bulgarian wine, said Deputy Minister.

The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture and Forestry Desislava Taneva, Executive Director of the Executive Agency on Vine and Wine, Krasimir Koev and Chairman of the National Vine and Wine Chamber, Plamen Mollov.
