BFU and NSA signed a cooperation agreement

The Rector of the National Sports Academy, prof. Krasimir Petkov and the President of the Bulgarian Football Union Georgi Ivanov signed a cooperation agreement. The two signed the document in the presence of the vice-president of the BFU and assistant rector of the NSA prof. Nikolay Izov, Deputy Executive Director of BFS Dobrin Gjonov, Technical Director Kiril Kotev, Director of Development of Children and Youth Football Lachezar Dimov, Assoc. Emil Atanasov - Director of the Coaching School and Dean of the Faculty of Sport, Valentin Dobrev - Director of Administrative and Business Activities and the academic leadership of the NSA.

The agreement regulates the relations and activities in the educational-methodical, research and sports activities in which the two institutions plan to implement their partnership. An important part of the cooperation will be the development of programmes and methodologies for joint participation in scientific and applied research projects and studies within national and international programmes.

Joint training, scientific and sporting events and activities will be organised and held, as well as teaching and learning seminars, scientific conferences and congresses. In addition, an internship programme will be opened at the BFU for training and development of staff, and the exchange of information and joint research activities will be at the core of the work.

The heads of the two institutions expressed mutual respect and appreciation for the fruitful work so far and confidence in the success of the agreed cooperation. "It is a privilege for the Bulgarian Football Union to cooperate with an institution like the National Sports Academy and we have high hopes for the development of this partnership in the future. I believe that in our joint work in the future we will contribute to the development of the professional staff that the only specialized university in the field of physical education and sport in Bulgaria prepares," said BFU President Georgi Ivanov.

For his part, the Rector of the National Sports Academy, prof. Krasimir Petkov expressed the will of the NSA leadership to support and assist the development of football, continuing the established traditions. "I would like to give a very good recipe for success - continuity and appreciation of good staff. When a good team is established in an organization and there is continuity to build on, things happen," said Prof. Petkov wished success to the BFU management team.
