First ever FIFA seminar for elite DYF coaches completed

The FIFA workshop for elite DYF coaches concluded with lecture sessions on individual development of mentors and reflection and planning for next steps.

The event, which was organised by the world headquarters, took place between 21 and 24 January at the Boyana National Football Base, and two of the most renowned specialists in the field came to Sofia.

Callum Irving is the head of FIFA's coach training department, and Simon Jennings is one of the sports and technical experts at the headquarters.

The two delivered over 20 hours of lectures in 4 days to representatives from domestic elite clubs on a variety of topics, touching on points related to individual coach development, coaching and game principles, talent identification and monitoring, current trends in the game and more.

The lecture sessions were complemented by practical sessions and field exercises, and on the last day of the event, participants received special gifts from the BFS and FIFA.

The seminar was another step in the partnership between the two organisations to improve the training of elite youth players in Bulgaria and raise the level of coaches and the training and playing process.
