Bulgaria lost 1:2 against Eire in the first playoff for a place in the second level of the Nations League.
Marin Petkov put the Lions ahead in the 6th minute, but Eyre achieved a complete turnaround by the end of the first half after first Finn Azaz scored the equaliser for the visitors in the 21st minute and Matt Doherty made it 2-1 in the 42nd minute.
The rematch is in three days in Dublin.
In the sixth minute Marin Petkov scored with a beautiful shot from the edge of the penalty area. The Irish equalised in the 21st minute after a close-range header by Finn Azaz. 180 seconds before the break, Matt Doherty found the net with a header to bring a turnaround.
