Bulgaria U21 national team recorded a 0-1 defeat against Luxembourg in its first qualifying match for UERO 2019 in Group 9. The substitute Tinelli scored the only goal in the last minute of the game after a long shot and a ricochet from a Bulgarian defender.
There were a few goalscoring opportunities for both teams during the first part. Serkan Yusein could have opened the scoring for Bulgaria, but his header was saved by Ewert. Bohnert missed the biggest chance for Luxembourg when he was left one-on-one with Vasilev, but the goalie saved his shot.
During the second half the pace dropped and there were no goalscoring chances in front of both goals. In the 90th minute, Tinelli tried a shot outside the penalty area and after a ricochet of a Bulgarian defender the ball hit the bar and entered the net.
