Bulgaria Under-21 National team beat Georgia U21 1:0 in a friendly game, which was played at the National Football Base in Boyana, Sofia. Vladimir Aytov gave Bulgaria the win in the 74th minute. The match was part of the team`s prepration for the European qualifiers starting in September.
First half
In the 14th minute Serkan Yusein tried to score from distance, but his shot was saved by the goalie. 10 minutes later the young “Lions” could have opened the score. Denislav Aleksandrov made a run by the right side and crossed the ball in to the penalty area, but Nikolay Todorov`s shot went wide. The guests also missed a good opportunity a minute later when Akaki Shulaia`s header came off the bar.
Second half
In the 54th minute Serkan Yusein once again tried to caught off guard the goalie, but missed the target. Bulgaria`s keeper Hristiyan Vasilev had to intervene in a few occasions , saving Shulaia and Kharaishvili`s shots. Bulgaria took the lead in the 74th minute. Vladimir Aytov shot and after a ricochet from the bar the ball went in to the net. Ten minutes later Anri Tchichinadze was sent off after he received a second yellow and a red card respectively.
Bulgaria`s next friendly match will be against Greece. The match will be played on at 18:30 hrs. (LOC) at 12th of March at the National Football Base in Boyana.
