The famous football referee and former vice president of the Bulgarian Football Union Stefan Ormandzhiev has passed away at the age of 63 after a long illness.
As a player Ormandzhiev has played for CSKA`s youth team, then for "Granichar" (Svilengrad).
Enters in the football refereeing in 1983. Between 1993 and 1998 he is an international referee. He has officiated 107 matches in “A” group and 32 international games.
Since 1999 he is a UEFA and FIFA delegate and referee observer. In 1998 he became a member of BFU`s Executive Committee. During the period 1998-2001 and 2005-2014, he was vice president of the BFU. In 2001-2002 he was president of the BFU`s Refereeing Committee.
The Bulgarian Football Union expresses its sincere condolences to Stephen Ormandzhiev`s family and friends.
