The success of Under 17 European Championship, which took place in Bulgaria in 2015 has convinced the UEFA Executive Committee to trust the BFU to host another European Championship - this time for women's in the same age.
In the last few months the BFU crew has prepared and presented to UEFA a total of 6 nominations – for Under 19 in 2019 and 2020 and for Women's Under 17 again for the two editions of the tournament.
Not all the federations which stated intention to host the men tournaments were able to submit the required documentation, but despite that,the competition went very strong.
Ultimately Bulgarian football fans will have the chance to experience the excitement of the UEFA Under – 17 Championship in 2019.
8 teams will participate in the tournament, which provides the host team of Bulgaria to enter the final phase without playing qualifying rounds.
BFU partners in the organization and host cities will be Burgas, Sozopol, Varna and Albena. For training centers are chosen Pomorie and Nesebar and for referees training center – Obzor.
