Perfect start for Bulgaria U19 in the UEFA 2017 qualifiers

The Bulgarian Under-19 national team recorded a prestigious win at the start of the EURO 2017 qualifiers. Angel Stoykov`s players beat Portugal U19 1:0 in their first game of Group 8, which was played at “Hadzhi Dimitar” stadium in Sliven.

The Bulgarians demonstrated good football, devotion, spirit, will to win and strong collective, they were aggressive in front of the goal, as they created several good goal scoring opportunities and managed to net the ball once.

In the 20th minute the score was opened. Asen Chandarov crossed from long distance to Tonislav Yordanov. He found Tilev who passed to Georgi Rusev. Elche`s player shot and after a ricochet from Gonsalo Vieira the ball went in the goal for 1:0.

In the beginning of the second half the guests tried to apply pressure and the goalie Daniel Naumov had to intervene. He denied Tiago Dias`s strong shot with a perfect save.

In the 70th minute the “Lions” could have doubled their lead, but Stanislav Ivanov missed the target.

Ten minutes later Rusev also found himself in a good position, but Maximiano made a fine save.

In the other match Denmark beat Belarus 5:0 at “Trace Arena” stadium in Stara Zagora.

Bulgaria`s next game is against Denmark. The match will be played on 12th November, Saturday.

In the other game Portugal will face Belarus.
