Sportklinik "Eurovita" and Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment in traumatology, orthopedics and sports medicine, "Dr. Dimitar Shoilev" officially became part of FIFA Medical Centres of Excellence. Both clinics have received their accreditations at a special ceremony in Sofia by the chairman of the medical committee of FIFA, Dr. Michael D'Hooge. Guests of the event were Minister of Youth and Sports Krassen Kralev and the President of the Bulgarian Football Union Borislav Mihaylov, who strongly supported their bid for membership in the family of FIFA.
"Congratulations to the managements of the two clinics. I hope that their accreditation by FIFA, will help the development of sports medicine in Bulgaria. At the same time I really hope that the clinics will have fewer patients, which means - more healthy athletes. This could be achieved by using their excellent concepts for the prevention of injuries, which the two clinics allready have "said the president of the Bulgarian Football Union Borislav Mihaylov.
"Until now only 33 medical institutions have received the certificate of FIFA, which is an acknowledgment of service and the high level of our specialists. I am extremely pleased with the recognition which they have received. I hope that will hold high standards in the coming years and this will help the development of football and sports in our country" said sports minister Krassen Kralev.
FIFA Medical Centres of Excellence is a global organization comprising 33 medical centers for sports medicine worldwide. The two clinics are the first to be part of the FIFA family in the Balkan region.
