The "A" national team of Bulgaria was defeated 0: 3 in his visit to Sweden. The European qualifiers match of group A for the 2018 FIFA World Cup was played at “Friends Arena” stadium in Solna - the suburb of Stockholm.
The national coach Petar Houbtchev made four changes in a team compared to the match against France three days ago. Anton Nedyalkov, Vasil Bozhikov, Simeon Slavchev and Ivaylo Chochev changed Zhivko Milanov, Dimitar Pirgov Mihail Alexandrov and Marcelinho. In this match the national team of Bulgaria came out for the first time entirely in green kit, this is the second choice kit color of the new team’s equipment dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the April Uprising.
First half-time.
The first goal scoring opportunity was in the 5th min. when Berg missed the target. Two minutes later Vladislav Stoyanov saved Toivonen’s header.
In 30th min. Stoyanov was excellent again and prevented a dangerous situation.
In 39th min. the hosts took the lead after Toivonen riffled in from five meters.
In 42nd min. Ivelin Popov missed the targed. After a counter attack Slavchev came in one-in-one situation against Olsen, passed the ball to Popov who squandered a great chance to equalise by shooting wide.
In the next attack Sweden doubled their lead after a group mistake of Bulgaria`s defence. The full back Emil Krafth pulled the ball back for Hiljemark to score from close range.
Second half-time.
The secon half started with a new missed opportunity from the hosts but in 58th min. Lindeloef added a third goal from Toivonen's clever header back into the middle as Bulgaria failed to clear a set piece.
Until the end Popov and Milanov missed a couple of chances. So did the home team.
М. Alexandrov, Marcelinho and in the end Martin Raynov, who made his debut for the national team also took part in the match
On November 13, Bulgaria plays against Belarus in its last qualifying match for 2016.
