Bulgarian U17 team started in an excellent way its participation in the First qualifying round for the Euro 2017. The players of Alexander Georgiev won their first match 1:0 against Georgia. The match of qualifying group 8 was played at "Kempeleen Urheilukeskus" stadium in Kempele, Finland.
The players of the National team were better on the field and they could have opened the score in 20th minute when after a corner kick, the ball fell into Gavrilov and he had an effort on goal, but Buliskeria (Georgia) made a save.
In 33rd minute Dzhoskhun Mihaylov missed the target.
A minute later a foul was committed against Mihaylov within the penalty area and the referee Dimitrios Massias awarded a penalty kick. The captain Ilia Gruev was accurate in executing the penalty kick and brought the lead to Bulgaria1:0.
During the second half-time the Georgians created a few situations, but the Bulgarian goalkeeper Hristo Lalev demonstrated his qualities and saved Ivaniadze, Babunadze and Guliashvili`s shots.
In the 74th minute Dzhoskhun Mihaylov could have doubled the lead for Bulgaria, but his shot hit the woodwork and the match ended 1:0 in favor of the "Lions".
Bulgaria`s nest game is against Sweden on 30 September, Friday at 14:00 at the stadium "Raahen Urheilupuisto" in Raahe, Finland.
