Bulgaria "A" national team began with a victory in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers. Ivaylo Petev`s team outplayed Luxembourg with 4:3.

First half

Bulgaria started the game looking for the goal and soon the result was opened. Dimitar Rangelov gave advance of our team in the 16th minute with a shot from a far distance. This was the sixth goal for the experienced striker for the national team. By the end of the first half Mihail Alexandrov and Georgi Milanov shot, but missed the target, as Milanov`s shot hit the bar.

Second half

In the 47th minute Joachim tried a shot, but missed the target. 13 minutes later Joachim scored after a fluctuating manifestation of Bulgaria`s defense. Two minutes later, Joachim scored a second goal after overcoming Ivanov and sent the ball past Stoyanov. In the 65th minute Tonev crossed from a corner kick and Marcelinho leveled the score. It was the second goal of Marseliyno as a national of Bulgaria after his goal in the friendly game against Portugal in Leyria at the end of March.

In the 79th minute Bulgaria made a complete comeback. Strahil Popov broke through the middle, then was fouled outside the penalty area. Ivelin Popov scored his 11th goal for the national team and gave Bulgaria the lead after an excellent performance from the free kick. In the 90th minute Bohnert scored for 3:3. Just two minutes later Tonev netted the ball with a powerful shot and shaped the final outcome of the game. On October 7, Bulgaria will face France (Away), and three days later the national team will play against Sweden in Stockholm.
