The national team of Bulgaria for Girls under-18 began with a victory its participation in the friendly international tournament of UEFA, which is held in Albena. "The Lionesses” beat “Moldova” U18 4:3 after penalty shoot-outs. In the regular time the match ended 0:0.
The nationals dominated in the first half and held the initiative in creating lots of situations , mostly from set pieces. The best opportunities opened up in front of Asya Angelova and Elena Lukanova that failed to put them into effect, and once the ball was cleared off the goalline by the Moldovian defense.
In the second half, Silviya Radoyska’s team continued to be active and to seek success. They created a few clean situations again, but the defence of the guests survived.

That’s how the game ended 0:0 and according to the regulation in case of equality, penalty shoot-outs have to be done.
The "Lionesses " showed stronger nerves and won with 4:3. Asya Angelova, Lora Petrova Lilia Birova and Diana - Mihaela Atanasova were accurate for Bulgaria , while for Moldova- Carolina Thabourey, Irina Topal and Alexander Trofimov netted the ball, but Ana Arnautu and Julia Peteltsa missed the target.

"I am delighted with the performance of the girls who showed diligence, followed the guidelines and complied with tactical discipline. At the end of the game we dropped physically as the footballers recently started training with their clubs and aren‘t in optimal shape. The positive for me is that I was able to judge the condition of the team and on which of the girls I can count on for the upcoming qualifiers. For the match against Ukraine changes will be made because of the UEFA regulations. According to them each competitor must play at least 45 minutes, "said coach Silviya Radoyska.
Bulgaria's next and final game is against Ukraine, 19.08 (friday) 10 AM , at "Albena 1" stadium.
The tournament is part of the team’s preparation for the upcoming European qualifications under-19 in October ( 18-25 ) which our country will host . Our team is in a group with compositions of Moldova , the Netherlands and Turkey.
