The draw for the new First professional league 2016/17 season has been made. The ceremony took place at “Rodina” Hall at the “Vassil Levski” National Stadium.
The new championship starts on 30th July. The winter break will be from December 14th, 2016 to February 18th, 2017. The regular season in First professional league, which includes 26 rounds will end on 1st April, 2017.
The second phase of the championship will end on May 31st, 2017. The Playoff for a place in Europe League between a representative of the first six teams and a team from the second eight in the table and the Playouts for the remaining last two positions in the Elite Division are scheduled for June 4th, 2017.

Format
The days and the starting hours of matches will be announced in the coming days after a consultation with the broadcast television rights holders of the championship.
The Bulgarian Football Union reserves the right to change the dates for start and end of each of the championship phases and also the dates and starting hours of the matches.
