The Bulgarian Under-16 national team began with a draw its participation in the international friendly tournament "Bannikov". Aleksander Georgiev`s players ended 0:0 against the hosts Ukraine in its first game of Group "A".
During the first half, Pier Pierov missed the best goalscoring opportunity for Bulgaria. Slavia`s midfielder stole the ball from a defender and was left one-on-one with the goalie, but his shot was saved by Babichyn.
In the second part again Pierov had the chance to win the 3 points for our team from a free kick, but Babichyn was at his place and saved.

In the final minutes of the game Hristo Lalev also had to demonstrate his class after saving Vaschishin`s shot outside the penalty area.
In the other match of the group Israel beat Serbia 2:0.
Thus after the first round, Israel is leading the group with 3 points, followed by Bulgaria and Ukraine with 1. Serbia is without a point.
Bulgaria`s next game is against Serbia, on Thursday, at 17:00 hrs.
