BFU`s Zonal Council - Sofia is organizing a tournament for children at the National Stadium "Vasil Levski" - Cup "Prof. Ivan Slavkov" in memory of the former BFU president and chairman of BOC. The format of the tournament is football 5 for children born in 2008 and will be held between May 12-14. This is the second tournament in a row which the Council is organizing in cooperation with "National Sports Facilities Company". The first tournament was held a mounth ago. Almost 200 children took part of the competition which was for football 7.
12 teams will compete in the tournament: "Levski" (Sofia), "Levski-Rakovski" (Sofia), "Slavia" (Sofia), "Lokomotiv" 1929 (Sofia), "Lokomotive" (Plovdiv), DIT (Sofia), "Tsarsko selo" (Sofia), "Lions" (Sofia), "National" (Sofia), "Ferion" (Sofia), "Olympia" FC-Sofia and Metalurg (Pernik).
The winners will be awarded with Cup Trophies and all the children will receive medals, kits, balls, food and drinks provided by the Bulgarian Football Union and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The competition is part of the Development program of junior football in which are carried out 50 tournaments all over the country. The total number of children involved in these all year-round competitions is nearly 10 000. The organization of these tournaments is founded by the BFU and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
