Bulgaria WU16s achieved a second victory in UEFA`s Development Tournament in Albena. Two days after beating Georgia 4:1, this time Troyan Radulov`s players won aginst Romania 7:6 on penalties, as the game ended 2:2 in regular time.

First half
During the first half the “lionesses” had the initiative, they were more aggressive, didn`t stop attacking and had many shots towards the opponents goal.
The guests opened the scoring in the 11th minute when after a mistake in Bulgaria`s defense, Oana Negrra netted the ball.
Until the end of the first part the Troyan Radulov`s players made a complete comeback. In the 15th minute the Bulgarians leveled the score. Ivana Naydenova headed the ball home after a mistake by the Romanian goalie Szidonia Salomon.
13 minutes later the “lionesses” took the lead. Yanitsa Ivanova overcame and opponent with a feint move and scored a screamer from 15 meters.
Second half
During the second part the pace dropped, as the two teams made a number of substitutions.
In the 75th minute Romania`s players equalized. A corner kick created disorder in the penalty area, and once again the resourceful Oana Negrra scored for 2:2.
Two minutes before the end Gabriela Boyuklieva could have won the game for Bulgaria, as she was left one-on-one with the goalie, but missed the target. Thus the game ended 2:2.
According to the regulations of the tournament if, after 80 minutes, a match ends in a draw, penalty kicks will be taken to determine the winner.
The “lionesses” showed strong nerves and won by 7:6. Mariela Nedeva, Lilia Birova, Aleksandra Yaneva, Daniela Lazarova and Ebru Dormushali were accurate from the spot, as only Anna Georgieva failed.
Camelia Moradu, Ana Maria Vladulescu, Oana Negrra and Alexandra Stoica scored, while Stefania Burcea and Raluca Borodi missed.
“I am not satisfied by the result. We deserved to win in the regular time, because we were the better team during the whole game. Romania is a serious team, but we had the initiative, we wanted the victory more and our girls were better”, said Bulgaria`s Head Coach Troyan Radulov.
In the other game Croatia beat Geogia 1:0.
After the second games Croatia is leading the group with 6 points, followed by Bulgaria with 5, Romania – 1 and Georgia – 0.
(According to the regulations of the tournament 3 points are given for a win in the regular time, 2 points for a penalty shoot-out win and 1 point for a penalty shoot-out loss).
Bulgaria`s third and last game is against Croatia. The match will be played on Thursday, at 11:00 hrs., at “Albena 1” Stadium.
