Bulgaria had won his 3-rd consecutive game, without conceding a goal, after a comfortable 2:0 in Skopie against the host team from FYR Macedonia.
Unlike with the game in Leiria against Portugal, Coach Ivaylo Petev had made three changes in his starting line-up. The keeper and super-hero Stoyanov and defenders Aleksandrov and Milanov was replaced in the starting eleven by Mitrev, Terziev and Bozhikov.
First half
The host from FYR Macedonia were the better team in the first half regarding the possession of the ball, while the Bulgarian team has defended well and tried to do counter-attacks. The hosts was very close to open the score twice – first Ibraimi have tried to find the net from the age of the area, but Mitrev has made a save, and then Sikov has been denied only by the bar, after a fine ball from the veteran skipper and former Inter Milan star Goran Pandev.
In 41-st minute Rangelov has tried to put the ball in the net form a close range, but keeper Dimitrievski has made a good save.
Second half
In the second half the game had completely changed. The visitors was dominating the possession of the ball and have created plenty of good attacks.
In one of those, Stahil Popov send a perfect ball in the box and Ivelin Popov slided to Rangelov who scored with a perfect header.
Bulgaria doubled his lead in the 87-th minute. Aleksandar Tonev had finished perfectly a stunning combination between Delev, Popov and Chochev. In the end of May, the Bulgarian team will gather to begin the preparation for the friendly tournament „Kirin Cup“, which will be held in Japan in the beginning of June, with the participation of Bulgaria, Japan, Denmark and Bosna and Herzegovina.
