Ivelin Popov - the forward of one of Russia’s biggest clubs “Spartak” Moscow was voted the Best Bulgarian player for 2015. The 55 th edition of the award was organized and took place through a partnership between Bulgarian Football Union, Bulgarian sports journalists’ Association and “Daks Media”.
The captain of the National team collected the most votes from sports journalists and received the award from the Minister of Youth and Sports Krasen Kralev, at a ceremony held in SPA Hotel “Tsarsko selo” Sofia.
Popov won the poll with 241 points. His teammates in the National team of Bulgaria - Ivaylo Chochev and Georgi Milanov are second and third with 108 and 61 points.
Stanimir Stoilov is the Best Bulgarian coach of the year. The specialist earned his award for the results of his club team Astana, which made a breakthrough in the Champions League - the first team of Kazakhstan in the group stage. Stoilov received 264 points, leaving behind the coaches of Cherno More - Nikola Spasov (118 pts.) and Ludogorets - Georgi Dermendzhiev (70 pts.).
The awards were given also for the following categories:
Best goalkeeper: 1. Bojan Jorgacevic (Levski) – 38 pts., 2. Vladislav Stoyanov (Ludogorets) – 29 pts., 3. Krasimir Kostov (Pirin) – 13 pts.
Best defender: 1. Strahil Popov (Litex) – 26 pts., 2. Zhivko Milanov (Levski) – 18 pts., 3. Atanas Zehirov (Beroe) – 12 pts.
Best midfielder: 1. Marcelinho (Ludogorets) – 39 pts., 2. Roman Prochazka
(Levski) – 12 pts., Matthias Kuryor (Cherno More) – 10 pts.
Best forward: 1. Danilo Asprilya (Litex) – 63 pts., 2. Claudiu Keseru (Ludogorets) – 16 pts., 3. Martin Kamburov (Lokomotiv Pd) – 9 pts.
Best foreign player: 1. Danilo Asprilya (Litex) – 83 pts., 2. Marcelinho (Ludogorets) – 12 pts., 3. Claudiu Keseru (Ludogorets), Roman Prochazka (Levski), Bojan Jorgacevic (Levski) – 1 p.
Best young player: 1. Bozhidar Kraev (Levski) – 43 pts., 2. Krasimir Kostov (Pirin) – 14 pts., 3. Kiril Despodov (Litex) – 12 pts.
Best female football player (votes from the coaches ): Sylvia Radoyska (NSA)
The awards were decided by a panel of 98 sports journalists.
