Bulgaria U19 lost against Poland U19 with 0:1 in Paphos

The Bulgarian under-19 national team lost against Poland U19 with 0:1 its first game in Group 3 of the UERO 2016 Qualifying round.

The game at "Paphiakos" stadium in Paphos was equivalent and the Bulgarians successfully opposed against the strong opponent which players are playing regularly in the Polish Ekstraklasa.

Svetoslav Todorov`s players started perfectly and could have opened the scoring early, but Bozhidar Kraev and Tonislav Yordanov missed the target.

Until the end of the first half Tonislav Yordanov tried to score again but without success and the goalkeeper saved Aleksander Georgiev`s shot.

After the break the play was focused mainly in midfield as the two teams didn`t want to risk too much.

Jagiellonia`s forward Karol Swiderski tried to overcome Bulgaria`s goalkeeper with few shots, but Mihaylov made a fine save in 69th minute and kept his net dry.

In the 2nd minute of extra time the Bulgarians came close to score, but Dragowski saved Lyaskov`s shot.

60 seconds later Swiderski shaped the final outcome of the game after an assist made by Jozwiak.

In the other match of our group, Luxembourg surprisingly beat the hosts Cyprus with 2:1.

Thus, after the end of the first matches, Poland and Luxembourg occupy the first two places in the group with 3 points, while Bulgaria and Cyprus are in the last two positions with 0

Bulgaria`s next game is against Luxembourg on 13th of November, Friday, at 14:30 hrs at "Paphiakos" Stadium in Paphos. In the other match of the group Poland confronts Cyprus at 14:30 at “Kouklia Community” Stadium in Paphos.
