Bulgaria won 2-0 against Azerbaijan

Bulgaria won 2:0 against Azerbaijan in their last Euro 2016 qualifying game. The match was held at the stadium "Vasil Levski" in Sofia.

The host team started strongly and tried to attack from the first minute, holding his opponent in his half. The first chance for Bulgaria came in the 3-th minute when Ivelin Popov tried to open the score but his shot went wide.

 

10 minutes later, Popov had another chance, but his shot went over the bar. However the score was opened in the 20-th minute, when Mihail Alexandrov headed home after a perfectly taken corner by Ivelin Popov.   

Until the half-time whistle, Popov and Alexandrov failed to find the net for Bulgaria and Amirgyuliev had a good goal scoring opportunity for the visitors, but Mitrev has made a spectacular save.  


In the second half Azerbaijan started much more aggressively and Nazarov tried to give back a goal, but Mitrev made a fine save again.

Six minutes later Zhivko Milanov passed from the right side to find Dimitar Rangelov, who made it 2:0 with an excellent header.

Ventsislav Hristov and Simeon Slavchev has entered in the second half in the place of Popov and Alexandrov. In the 73-th minute Ruslan Abishov tried to overcome Mitrev, but the Bulgarian keeper reacted well. In the following minutes till the end of the game Bulgaria were in full control and finished the game in a perfect way.
