Bulgaria was a host of the UEFA girls U18 international "Development tournament".
The tournament was held from 4 to 7 August 2015 in the resort "Albena" and was attended by teams of Bulgaria, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey. The matches were officiated by elite international referees.
The tournament was won by the team of Russia, which recorded three consecutive wins.
Bulgarian team conceded three defeats due to lack of experience, bad luck in front of goal and that the team is not in optimal physical condition, which proved to be decisive during the matches. Our girls lost to Russia 1: 3, Turkey 0: 1 and Bosnia and Herzegovina 0: 2.
Here is the opinion of the National coach Sylvia Radoyska:
" I think that despite the results, the tournament was very useful for us as an experience. Most of the girls who were selected for the camp were able to take part in the matches. Our idea was to play a more defensive football with a view of the players that we have and thus to prepare for the upcoming European qualifications in September against the teams of Russia, Slovenia and Ireland. Overall I am pleased with the performance of girls who on the whole filled my tactical instructions. Currently, players are not in optimal physical condition, because the National championship starts in September and girls do not have trainings with their clubs because they are in a rest period. We will continue to work to clean up the mistakes in our style of play and be ready for the matches that lie ahead. "
