Bulgaria Under-19 national team beat 2:1 Macedonia in a friendly match, played in Skopje on 31 May.
In the first half there were no good scoring chances in front of the two goals.
In the second half, Svetoslav Todorovs` players took the lead. In the 47th minute Tomas Tsvyatkov received a deep pass and chipped the ball over the goalkeeper. 20 minutes later Emil Iliev had a chance to double the lead for Bulgaria, but his shot went just left of the door. The hosts leveled the scoring in the 72th minute after a multipass combination and precise finish from Petar Petrovski. Six minutes later, again Emil Iliev came close to score, but his shot was parried by the Macedonian goalkeeper in to a corner. After a good cross from the corner kick, Georgi Kupenov headed the ball into the net and shaped the outcome of the game - 2:1 for Bulgaria.
Svetoslav Todorov, Bulgaria coach:
My players gave out all they could. I'm happy with the effort and desire that they showed. This is our third camp in a row and I think that they are ready to play in the A or B group professional championships. Three of the players born in 1998 made a very good debut game.
