Bulgarian U16 team lost its first game at the UEFA International Development Tournament in Romania. The young lions were beaten by the hosts in Mogoshoaya – a training camp of all the Romanian representative teams.
The Bulgarians starterd bravely and took the lead after Atanas Kabov passed the ball wisely to the Levski Sofia’s Stanislav Ivanov, who left no chances whatsoever for the Romanian keeper with a powerful shot, which ended in the right corner. In the 28th minute Bulgaria suffered a serious blow after Martin Semerdzhiev was sent off, while the Romanians got a penalty. It was highly doubtful whether the Bulgarian player should have been shown a red card, because it was very unclear whether he was the last Bulgarian defender or not. The Romanians equalized from the spot.
The home side got the win after a remarkable bicycle kick from the Dinamo Bucuresti’s striker Robert Moldovanu in the second half.
The next game for the Bulgarian team is scheduled for tomorrow and the next opponent is Hungary – a decent side which got a win today after overcoming Moldova – 2:0.
