U18 National Team, coached by Aleksander Georgiev, lost 0:3 to Japan in the 7 - 8th place match of Valentin Granatkin Cup which is held in St. Petersburg, Russia. The match was played in SCC Petersburgsky Stadium and Japan's goals came from Miyoshi (14), Ogawa (18) and Kishimoto (71).
With this result, U18 National Team finished the tournament in the 8th place.
During his participation in the tournament, Bulgarian national team recorded two wins against Kazakhstan with 2:0 and Lithuania 2:0, two defeats against Slovenia 0:1 and Japan 0:3 and one draw against Latvia 1:1.
In the final match of the tournament, Russia beat Korea Republic 2:1 and won the Valentin Granatkin Cup.
