Bulgarian national under-18 football team defeated Kazahstan 2:0 at the start of the Granatkin Memorial Tournament in Saint Petersburg (Russia). The match was played in SCC Petersburgsky Stadium. The game was first for Aleksander Georgiev as head coach of the players born after 1 January 1997.
The Bulgarian players dominated over their opponents in the majority of the game, they were aggressive, showed attacking football and deserved the 3 points.
The captain Aleksander Georgiev opened the scoring in the 15th minute after converting Georgi Gushlev`s low cross into a goal.
In the 73th minute Rangel Ignatov netted the ball for the second time with a shot from 13 meters to ensure Bulgaria’s victory. Oleg Grubov and Aleksandar Georgiev were selected as men of the match.
