Bulgarian national under-19 football team lost 1:2 to Israel on matchday one in Group 8 from the UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifying round. The match was held at “Netanya” stadium in Netanya.
The “young lions” got off to a fine start when Veselin Lyubomirov opened the scoring in the 30th minute. However, the lead was short-lived after the hosts equalised within six minutes. Lior Einbrom was the scorer. Chavdar Ivaylov missed a good opportunity to take the lead but his shot was blocked by Omri Glazer. Kiril Despodov, Antonio Vutov and Bojidar Kraev also missied good chances to score the second goal. Matan Hozez became the hero after he scored the winning goal ten minutes before the end of time.
