Antoni Zdravkov won his debut as coach of Bulgaria national under-21 football team while the “young lions” achieved a 3:0 victory over FC Vereya in a friendly match at “Hadji Dimitar” stadium in Sliven. Bulgaria`s head coach Zdravkov gave all his available players the chanceto play. He divided them into to two different squads for each of the halves. FC Beroe and FC Litex`s players did not participated in the match.
Tsvetelin Chunchukov opened the scoring early in the first half. Aykut Yanakov netted his side's second goal with a shot from 20 meters just before the half-time. Georgi Iliev netted the ball for the third time in the second half to ensure Bulgaria’s victory.
Coach Antoni Zdravkov said after the game he was pleased by the success: "My players tried to follow the instructions, they were standing well on the field and were aggressive. We made some mistakes, which led to some dangerous situations in front of our goal, but this is due to the lack of match practice", said Zdravkov.
